Christy Ramsey has service in his soul. As he notes, "I always like to help". Christy serves young people, parolees, and others who take classes at Computer Corps (https://www.computercorps.org) in Carson City, where Christy has volunteered more than 10,000 hours. One of his favorite projects is the annual tech camp for kids 9 to 15. At the end of camp they are given a refurbished computer. Computer Corps is wholistic, providing more than skills training. Lunch is provided for volunteers and students, and there is a food pantry for those who are food insecure.

Christy is administrative head for the Presbyterian churches in Nevada. This involves mediating problems and applying the Presbyterian Book of Order. As a side gig, Christy hosts a weekly call in radio program, "Battle Born Tech" Tuesdays at 8:00 PM on KNVC, where he advises on a wide variety of technical subjects (https://knvc.org/show/197813/battle-born-tech).

Married for 44 years, Christy's secret to a successful marriage is great patience, adding, "I married someone who is very patient and forgiving." The Ramsey's live with a German Shepherd / Huskey dog. Like so many Mensan's, Christy likes to read. Presently he is working through Liu Cixin's "Remembrance of Earth's Past" trilogy (The Three-Body Problem, The Dark Forest, and Death's End, https://tinyurl.com/mr2f9k5j). He can be reached at christy@christyramsey.com. See also https://www.extrachristy.com.
Christy is able to present information on a wide variety of topics while  projecting a composed presence, a great sense of humor, and maintaining a positive  classroom environment.

His patience, enjoyment, and kindness...was always apparent and appreciated.
Therese Torgerson
Not surprisingly, coming from a pastoring background, Christy had excellent people and communication skills. What was surprising, considering his background, was just how skilled he was in IT and software.

I appreciate how quickly you’ve put our website together and the creative way you’ve worded it!  I think it stands out from the typical sites you see and really reflects our personality!  Thank you!

Where You Can Find Me (@Home!)

While the Presbytery of Nevada has no office, I am sometimes at ComputerCorps 4630 Highway 50 East in Carson City, Nevada. Next to the Route 50 Post Office, ComputerCorps is in the west end of the building where we refurbish computers to sell, repair computers, and ecycle computer and electronic waste.
